Lessons

We teach children riding from the age of 5 years and upwards.

All of our lessons are half hour sessions and are based on a maximum of three people of a similar standard sharing.

Riders may choose to ride weekly or fortnightly, with a discounted price to our regular riders.

We offer private riding sessions for one-to-one attention in the school holidays, which also enables riders with their own horse to experience our coaching expertise too.

We also offer hacks in the beautiful Suffolk countryside.

All riders will have to have had a ridden assessment session first to assess suitability .

We aim to make all our lessons fun, whilst instilling confidence and a knowledge of the correct way to ride and handle ponies. We encourage the children to develop a partnership with each pony that they ride. Lessons are taken at the pupil’s own pace, supporting our belief that the child will learn when he/she is ready.

We teach the children to ride in an enclosed arena and also around the jumping field in the summer, where we have both show-jumps and rustic cross country style obstacles, as well as a small bank.

We host children’s birthday parties by arrangement and are happy to discuss your individual requirements.

Our covered riding arena makes a pony party at Moat Farm Riding Centre possible in all weathers!

Each child gets to groom, learn about tacking up the ponies and then ride the ponies (no riding experience necessary) in an enclosed arena with lots of fun and games included.

There are rosettes for each child as well as a picture of the ponies for the birthday child.

Hats and riding boots can be provided.
